Birth and Death Registration

The Consulate facilitates birth- and death-certificate services for Kenyans in the UAE: registration of births of Kenyan children born in the UAE, duplicate certificates, and attestation of existing certificates.

Application process

How to apply

  1. Step 1

    Obtain local certificate

    Get the birth/death notification from the host-country authorities.

  2. Step 2

    Book an appointment

    Schedule a registration appointment at the Mission.

  3. Step 3

    Submit documents

    Present the originals and copies for verification.

  4. Step 4

    Receive registration

    Collect the Kenyan registration record once processed.

Birth Certificate Services

Birth certificate application for Kenyan children born in the UAE

The following documents are required:

  1. Application form — download from eCitizen.
  2. Copy of the child’s birth certificate provided by UAE authorities.
  3. Copy of the translated version of the child’s birth certificate (English).
  4. Copy of the parent(s) Kenyan passport.
  5. Copy of the parent(s) Kenyan ID.
  6. Copy of the parents’ birth certificates.
  7. Proof of legal stay of the parents in their country of residence (must be valid).
  8. Indicate your contacts on a separate piece of paper.

Duplicate birth certificate application

The following documents are required:

  1. Application form.
  2. Copy of the old birth certificate.
  3. Copy of your Kenyan passport.
  4. Copy of your Kenyan ID.
  5. Proof of legal stay (resident permit) — must be valid.
  6. Indicate your contacts on a separate piece of paper.

Birth certificate attestation

The following documents are required:

  1. Original birth certificate.
  2. Copy of the birth certificate.
  3. Copy of the parents’ passports.
  4. MFA authentication letter.

Death Certificate Services

Duplicate death certificate application

The following documents are required:

  1. Copy of the old death certificate.
  2. Copy of your Kenyan passport.
  3. Copy of your Kenyan ID.
  4. Proof of legal stay (resident permit) — must be valid.
