Emergency Assistance
The Consulate provides assistance to Kenyan nationals in the UAE who find themselves in distress — including loss of passport, hospitalisation, detention, bereavement, exploitation, abandonment, and other emergencies. If you need emergency travel back to Kenya we can issue Emergency Travel Documents to facilitate your return.
Application process
How to apply
- Step 1
Contact the Mission
Call or email the Mission immediately to report the emergency.
- Step 2
Report to local police
Obtain a police abstract where a document was lost or stolen.
- Step 3
Submit your details
Provide photos and proof of citizenship at the Mission.
- Step 4
Receive an ETD
Collect your Emergency Travel Document to enable your journey.

How we can help
- Lost or stolen passport — emergency travel documents and replacement
- Hospitalisation — visit detained or hospitalised Kenyans, contact family in Kenya, liaise with UAE authorities
- Detention — consular visits and family communication; we cannot interfere in legal proceedings
- Bereavement — No-Objection Certificates for repatriation of remains, support for families
- Exploitation / abandonment — protection and welfare support, links to NGOs and shelters
- Crisis evacuation — coordination during major incidents
What we cannot do
- Pay legal, medical, or accommodation bills
- Interfere in court proceedings or police investigations
- Provide legal advice
- Replace travel documents instantly — emergency travel documents take 24-48 hours
